Voices and Name
Calling

This isn't the first or
last time it has happened, but this series of incidences illustrates the
phenomenon nicely. It was 1994 -1996 in Westminster Colorado.
While I would be with others I
would hear my name called. It actually happened quite often. I could either be
with my friends or with my family, but someone close would say my name, and no
one within earshot had called me. I could hear the voice as though someone had
called to try to get my attention, or single a question out to me (hey Traveller,
did you see the game?). Usually the voice was normal conversation tone,
sometimes like someone was calling for me to wait for them, and a few time that
the voice was lowered as though the speaker and I were conspiring.
I would most of the time ask who
called my name to receive confused looks. Everyone in the group should have
heard these voices, but none did. I learned to ignore
those voice.
Later on in life the voices
learned to say more than my name. I could actually hear some of the more
prominent thoughts that some people had. I know this because I almost won a
round of the "Name Game" in a single turn because I listened to these voices
tell me who people chose as their pseudonym.
