JAN'S TALES
Oak Grove Cemetery
(NOTE: One of the most
fascinating (and prolific!) people to contact me has been Jan. She
investigates paranormal activity, and photographs the scenes. Her camera
picks up some interesting images...
Some of the photos have been
highlighted by Jan to outline the anomalies in them... you may want to closely
study the unmarked ones first, to find out if what YOU see is what SHE
sees... each series of photos has an explanation of the events, and they are
posted separately. Keep checking back - it will take a while to post it all.
Enjoy...
The first
installment of Jan's investigations is located in the Oak Grove
Cemetery, in Paducah, KY... The comments and photos are posted just
as I received them in my email; I leave it to you to read and
examine them, then draw your own conclusions...
What do I think
about Oak Grove Cemetery? Well... it's a busy little place, isn't it...?)

This is
definitely a very haunted cemetery. While taking shots of various
places I felt a presence watching, and
some very interesting images appeared in the photos. The set
attached to this email is of what appears to be a man walking from
behind a tombstone in the right side of the original photo. A blow
up is included along with an outline of his figure. And yes, we were
alone in that section of the cemetery.... very eerie indeed!!

The spirit of a young woman named Della Barnes walks through this
cemetery on certain nights and days. Documents claim she was
accidentally poisoned by the doctor who was treating her for an
illness. Legend has a different story though...some people believe
that her fiancé cut off the fingers of one hand in a fit of jealous
rage to retrieve the expensive engagement ring he had bought her,
and she bled to death. When he learned she hadn't actually cheated
on him he had a statue erected of her likeness above her grave.
(Some tell the story that it was her husband that murdered her by
cutting off her fingers to retrieve the expensive wedding ring. This
may or may not be true, but the fact remains that she is buried with
no other Barnes around her.)
Mysteriously the fingers of the statue 'broke' off and you could see
trails of blood going down her dress, stains that to this day can
still be seen. As the years went by the head of the statue
disappeared and later her upper torso, by vandals no doubt. Today
there is only a skirt standing on the headstone. Behind her is a
family mausoleum where the permanent shadow of the fully erect
original statue has mysteriously embedded itself into the stone.
Attached are photos of the skirt, headstone, stair stone, the shadow
of the mausoleum and close up shots enlarged for you to see the
detail of the shadow, there are also two huge sets of eyes that
appeared in the photo with the enlarged photo of the shadow, as well
as the likeness of Della inside the shadow with her head tilted to
the left of the screen and she's wearing a long gown. Also, attached
are amazing photos of what appears to be a woman, possibly the
spirit of Della, walking in the cemetery on the same day we took the
photos, there is the original, then a blow up, then an outlined
photo showing you a woman in a late 1800's
style gown, arm sticking out with her hand on her hip, an ample
bosom, and her hair done up on top of her head.
